One of the very few Malaysian bands mining the 80′s post-punk sounds of Joy Division and its ilk, the still much underrated PARTIMELOVERS has now come up with a hypnotic new single called New Direction, from their split EP with fellow post-punk merchants Love/Comes, from Kuching . Drowned in just the right amount of reverb, the single boasts some pretty good production values, and while the realities of Malaysian radio will mean that it won’t really make them overnight stars, it is nonetheless another noteworthy and fascinating testament to the variety of sounds currently emanating from the Malaysian independent music scene.
