Nike, in partnership with Newschoolers.com, is looking for the freeskier and their filmer/editor that captures the most style, creativity and originality with their submitted video. The winner's video will need to include footage that’s unexpected and fresh (not necessarily the best trick-to-trick video part). This contest is about pushing the creativity envelope and producing original, insightful pieces; videos that are full of personality and style. Nike will be providing licensed music for the videos to be edited to, all found on Newschoolers.com/Chosen.
The contest kicks off with a Video Submission Round, which happens February 22nd through March 18th, 2012. The contestant's goal is to garner the most social interaction and buzz on Facebook during the crucial voting period, which happens March 18th through March 25th, with the Submission Round's 5 winners being announced on March 26th. The top 5 finalists will then have the opportunity to submit a new video if they choose from March 6th through April 1st. The final videos will then be judged by a panel of Nike Ski athletes from April 2nd through April 4th, resulting in an athlete and his filmer/editor being crowned victorious. Some of the Nike athletes to judge the finalists will include two-time X Games gold medalist TJ Schiller and four-time X-Games medalist, Sammy Carlson, who has recently been added to the Nike outerwear team.
The winning athlete and their filmer/editor will then be flown to Keystone Resort in Colorado for the Chosen Team Park Shoot, where they will get to hang and ride alongside the Nike Ski Team and their entourage of professional filmers and photographers.
